Integrating a global oil & gas company

 

A global oil & gas company faced the challenge of turning a fragmented internal supply chain with adversarial relationships resulting in multi-million pound contract disputes into a collaborative and seamless offering to clients.

 

The company was intially organised as a collection of five independent companies. Each would enter seperate contracts with the oil companies to build floating oil rigs. With billions of dollars at stake this often resulted in diverting energy into adversary and dispute rather than getting the job done.

 

To resolve this the independent companies were merged into a new company to create an integrated EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation) supply. A major strategic consultancy were employed as strategic consultants in 1997 and to ensure the successful delivery of the change CLC were introduced as change implementation specialists.

 

CLC worked in close collaboration with the strategic consultancy. The first step was to set up a steering committee and to conduct an in-depth audit to assess how to best support the process of change.

 

CLC coached the top team and sixty leaders across the company as well as facilitating large events and conducting a values process. As a result of working with CLC the organisation began the process of merging into one seamless whole.
