surviving and thriving through a major pharmaceutical company merger
integrating a global oil & gas company
The leaders of a key project team recognising that he was taking on his largest major drug development project used a CLC coach to step up to the leadership challenge.
CLC started with a half day session to have a very open and honest discussion about what was working and not working in the team. As a result the team recognised a shared responsibility for increasing their own effectiveness.
Over the next few months CLC observed team meetings and gave feedback to raise awareness of how effectively the team were working.
CLC facilitated the team to explore both their behaviours and their underlying mindsets. This was particularly useful in the team tackling deeply ingrained attitudes towards their US colleagues and to shift from defensive / reactive to more inclusive / proactive. The US team responded very positively to changes in the UK team and, as a result, the two teams were able to have more challenging, open and productive interactions.
CLC delivered individual and team coaching to the project for some three years. A key intervention was to create a clear shared purpose and vision and a set of measurable intermediate and achievable end goals.
The vision inspired, aligned and pulled together the whole team and significantly supported their planning process so that they made a major stride towards high performance.
